About the Role

We are looking for a Backend Engineer (Database Specialist) with strong expertise in MS SQL Server to join our team onsite in the UAE. This role focuses on building and maintaining high-performance, scalable backend systems and complex database architectures for enterprise-level applications. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working deeply with data, performance tuning, and server-side logic, without any frontend/UI responsibilities.

What You’ll Do

• Design, develop, and maintain database structures using Microsoft SQL Server
• Write and optimize stored procedures, functions, triggers, and views
• Perform query optimization, indexing, and performance tuning
• Manage and monitor SQL Server Agent Jobs, backups, and scheduled tasks
• Ensure data integrity, security, and consistency
• Collaborate with backend teams to design efficient data flows
• Troubleshoot performance issues in production environments
• Handle database deployments, migrations, and version control

Requirements

Core Requirements (Mandatory)

• Strong expertise in MS SQL Server

Hands-on experience with:

• Indexing (Clustered / Non-Clustered)
• Stored Procedures, Triggers, Functions
• Query optimization & execution plans
• SQL Server Agent Jobs
• 2+ years of professional experience in backend/database development
• Experience in large-scale or enterprise applications
• Strong knowledge of relational database design principles

Additional Technologies (Preferred / Add-ons)

Backend / Server-Side

• .NET Core / ASP.NET Web API (highly preferred)
• REST API development
• Authentication & authorization (JWT, OAuth)

Database & Tools

• SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS)
• SQL Profiler / Performance tuning tools
• ETL processes & data handling

DevOps / Infrastructure

• Basic knowledge of Windows Server / IIS
• CI/CD (Azure DevOps / GitHub Actions)
• Cloud exposure: Microsoft Azure (preferred)

Performance & Architecture

• Database normalization & optimization
• High availability (Replication, Always On)
• Caching (Redis – optional)
